We are saddened to announce the death of Mary Ann Landers (nee Nash), aged 74, of Cibolo, Texas.
Mary Ann was born in Clark County, Arkansas; the youngest child of Duncan & Myrtle Irene Nash. After graduating from Gurdon High School in 1968, Mary Ann left home, attending Henderson State University for a year before moving to Little Rock.
Not long after moving to the city, Mary Ann met Charles Landers through a mutual friend, Sara Moore. They began dating in September 1970; a marriage followed soon after on February 13, 1971. Their family began to grow with the birth of their sons Tommy and Brian, and their daughter, Kristi.
Although Mary Ann was employed for some time, she eventually retired and devoted her time to raise her three children, something Mary Ann worked tirelessly at. She became someone you could depend on whenever help was needed – she was always there whenever her children were sick, there for all the doctors’ visits, for the rides to school and to friends’ houses, for the birthdays and all the important events in her children’s lives.
Even in adulthood, Mary Ann continued to be reliable as she was the one who was there to help her daughter move in and out of her college dorms, as well as her apartments. No one ever went hungry around Mary Ann, either – she would cook the most wonderful and delicious meals, especially at holidays, and often sent food home with people. Her care for others extended to the family cats as well, one of her favorites being a grump of a cat named Rascal who would tolerate affection from no one other than Mary Ann.
Left to love and cherish Mary Ann’s memory are her son Tommy, her daughter Kristi (Levi), and her two grand-cats, Shadow and Buddy. She also leaves behind three brothers, a sister, along with many nieces and nephews. Mary Ann will once again unite with her husband of 54 years, Charles, her son, Brian, and her parents.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 6, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church in New Braunfels, TX.
