In Loving Memory of Mary Jane Kremenek Heusinger

Mary Jane Kremenek Heusinger, 81, passed away peacefully after an extended battle with dementia, on February 1, 2026, with her children at her side in Dallas, TX.

Born on August 30, 1944, in Dallas, Texas, to Charles Daniel Kremenek and Emma Ann Stavinoha, Mary Jane spent her early years in Jourdanton, Texas before moving to San Antonio. It was in San Antonio where she married and raised her family. Retirement years were spent on the farm in Marion TX.

Music was the heartbeat of Mary Jane's life. After raising her children, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio. As a member of the San Antonio Master Singers, she had the unforgettable opportunity to sing at Carnegie Hall in New York. Every Sunday, Mary Jane sang at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Marion, Texas, and was an active member of the Ladies Guild. Her love of music was evident until her final days.

Being an incredible role model for a wife, mother, and grandmother, her family has fond memories of family meals as well as baked cookies, cheesecake, and pancakes that she lovingly prepared. A skilled seamstress, she made numerous outfits and dresses for her children. She cherished good conversation over a glass of wine with family and friends, especially when laughter was involved. She was a talented artist with nature and the outdoors being her favorite subject. She treasured any opportunity to travel, especially if it meant time with family, a trip to the ocean or to Colorado for a week at the dude ranch.

Mary Jane will be remembered for her beautiful voice, gentle spirit, and the warmth she brought into every room. Her music lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children: Therese Marie Carter (Chris), Stephen Edward Heusinger (Lori), and Janet Ann Sthele (Chad); grandchildren: Evan Davila (Teresa), Erin Rawlinson (Zach), Jared Sthele (Mackenzie), Travis Sthele (Emily), Grace Heusinger, Lindsay Heusinger; her beloved niece Jennifer Jane Ferrell (daughter Lisa); many great-grandchildren and step grandchildren who brought her endless joy and pride.

Mary Jane was welcomed to her heavenly home by her husband of 57 years, Felix Doran Heusinger; her daughter, Christine Louise Davila; her brother, Charles Raymond Kremenek; and her sister, Anne Francis Kremenek.
