Mary Brown

Mary Joann Brown went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at the age of 76 years old.

She was born on January 31, 1946, in Brown Summit, North Carolina to Joe Foust and Mary Jordan.

She received her Associate’s Degree in Child Development from Central Texas College and continued to influence children’s lives as a preschool teacher, assistant daycare director, and a Sunday school teacher.

Mary enjoyed reading, bowling, and playing card games. She served as an usher throughout her life and further demonstrated her faith by participating in senior groups and serving in the women’s ministry.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe Foust and Mary Jordan, and her sister Lucille Foust.

Mary is survived by her daughter Teresa Watson, her son Franklin Brown (Jenn), her grandchildren; Shanice Duncan (Jeremy), Britney Blackburn (Grant), Tia Watson, Mackenzie Mata (Juan), Jordan Brown, Mack Hansen, Chayse Beenken, Grace Beenken, her great-grandson Judah Blackburn, her sisters; Zenobia Thomas of Greensboro, NC, and Sheila Lea (Ivan) of Reidsville, NC, along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 PM, with Visitation beginning at 5:00 PM, on Friday, October 07, 2022, at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel.

The family of Sis. Mary Brown would like to thank everyone who provided prayers, words of comfort, and other kindness to us during this time. Especially the Agape Christian Church family, Caleb's Corp and those who cared for her during her illness. May God bless you for your kindness during this time.
