Mary Katheline Stewart Black

Mary Katheline Stewart Black, age 91, passed away on May 2, 2024 after a brief illness.

Funeral services will take place Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 2PM in the Bailey Mortuary Chapel, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 1PM. Interment is in the Springhill Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.

Mrs. Black was born September 16, 1932 in Emerson, Arkansas to Catherine Lois (Wells) Stewart and William Doyle Stewart. She graduated from Springhill High School and attended Southern Arkansas University. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles Black. He joined the US Air Force, and together they raised a family, traveling in and out of the country. She was a former resident of Hot Springs Village, AR and Shreveport, LA.

A life long Methodist, Mrs. Black was an active member of Village United Methodist Church in Hot Springs Village, AR for 30 years. She was a woman of great faith who considered herself blessed. Her family and friends brought her much happiness, which was equally reciprocated.

Mrs. Black is survived by her daughters, Sharon Gayle Woodward Glasser and husband, Steven of The Woodlands, TX; Carolyn Ann Bradford of Marion, TX; eight grandchildren; Jennifer Jenette Woodward and husband, Gary Hanson, Adrienne Nunnery and husband, Phil, Sam Bradford and wife, Whitney, Daniel Bradford and wife, Shannon, Jonathon Bradford and wife, Gabriela, Daniel Black, Andrew Black; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Emma Lou Hood, sister -in-law Jackie Barber, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Black was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years, Charles L. Black; son, Richard Doyle Black and wife, Monette Black; grandson, Nicholas Black; brother-in-law, Dr. Bill Black and sister-in-law, Hanna Black.
