Mary Mabry Bailey

Mary Mabry Bailey was born March 5, 1930 in Maysville, Georgia. She passed away at the age of 95 on July 21, 2025. She was a long time resident of Garden Ridge, Texas.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Clara Belle Mabry, and her husband of 59 years, Jerry A. Bailey.

She is survived by her daughter Dianne E. Bailey, her son Jeffrey A. Bailey(Lynne), grandsons Jody A. Bailey, Adam Shea Bailey (Kimmie), Jeffrey Shane Bailey (Lisa), two great grandchildren , Raelyn and Zachary, and several nieces and nephews including Donna R Stiller.

Mary traveled the world as the spouse of a career Air Force Civil Engineer. She herself had a long career starting as an executive administrative assistant in aerospace medicine and continued in other medical and defense platforms before retiring in 1975.

In addition to her career, Mary always found time for her numerous interests. She was an avid gardener (never deterred by the Alaskan cold or the Texas heat), a diverse collector ( with guidance from her special friend Myrna Berkowitz), a talented artist in painting and pottery, and, like her mother, was a master of all things textile!

Until recently she read the paper every day and was a bonafide ‘JUMBLE’ queen!

Her cremains will be interred with her husband at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in the fall with a date to be determined.
