In Loving Memory of Marta Ysabel Lage Gonzalez
With broken hearts, but in celebration of the beauty and abundant love she brought to this world, we announce that our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt Marta Ysabel (Isa) passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025 in Live Oak, Texas.
Isa was born in La Habana Cuba, October 18, 1948, where she enjoyed a loving childhood surrounded by her parents Daniel Antonio Lage Potes and Dalia Rosa Gonzalez Roca, along with her sister Conchita Lage Ballori, and countless aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was a smart and curious child, who loved music, art and literature, a passion that stayed with her until her final years. We will forever treasure the countless books she left filled with copious notes and thoughtful ideas.
The political situation in Cuba prompted the family to leave their home and move to San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1965 where she completed her education, started a family, and focused on raising her son. Two years ago in 2023, she moved to Cibolo, TX, where she was able to spend quality time surrounded by the love and unconditional support of her son, daughter in-law and grandchildren.
Isa’s love and dedication to her family was profound. She was incredibly generous, always making sure everyone around her felt taken care of, whether it was with a homecooked meal, a kind word, or a thoughtful present. You couldn’t leave the house without a reminder of her love and kindness. Her legacy is one of love, compassion, and strength. She touched the lives of many, leaving behind a tremendous impact that will long be remembered.
Isa is survived by her son Rafael Constantino and his wife Adalmari, her grandchildren Santiago Rafael, Daniel Antonio, Gabriel Constantino, and Isaac Mateo Llera. She is also survived by her sister Conchita, her niece Laura, her nephews Eduardo and Daniel, and her godchildren, Taini and Cristina. They will all miss the unwavering love and generosity that deeply characterized their beloved Isa.
Isa’s spiritual life was based on the Catholic faith, where she received the Holy Sacraments, spent hours embedded in The Word and was a devout follower of the Virgin Mary and our Lord Jesus Christ.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Isa's life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Mission Concepcion Chapel, located at 807 Mission Rd, San Antonio, TX 78210. There will be a visitation at 9:30 am and a Memorial Service at 10:00 am. Friends and family are invited to gather, honoring the incredible woman she was and the life she lived.
