Mark Allen Windham was born on February 12, 1960 and passed away on November 13, 2021 at 61 years of age from riding freely on his beloved motorcycle through his home state of Texas. Raised by Tony LaCaze and Catherine Windham LaCaze with four brothers -Wayne, Rick, Paul and Dean- Mark is survived by his four children Tarren, Graham, Alex, and Breanna; grandchildren Damira, Melajiah, Alexander, Landen, Aiden and numerous other loving family and friends.
Mark was born in Pasadena, TX and traveled extensively across the globe both on behalf of his country through 14+ years of dedicated military service as well as vacationing internationally with his family. An extensive international traveler, Mark always called Texas home largely due to the loving family he had in the greater Houston area combined with his Texan mindset and hatred for cold weather. Mark served in the United States Navy as an FMF Corpsman and in the United States Army as a Communications Specialist before being medically retired. Military service is a trait he learned from his father – a Purple Heart recipient in Vietnam – and passed on to his children who, to this point, have combined for 28 years of active duty service in the Air Force and Navy.
Marked love playing golf, poker, riding motorcycles, skiing (on warm days), attending and rooting for Houston sports teams, playing and teaching his kids sports, and spending time with his grandkids. Never one to shy away from a good debate, Mark met many interesting folks in his travels and, despite staying busy with his military duties and subsequent civilian careers and hobbies, Mark always had time to help a family member, friend, or general acquaintance in a time of need no matter how dire the situation.
Mark’s family greatly appreciates the outpouring of love and sympathy from aforementioned acquaintances. No flowers, donations, or monetary contributions are necessary but anyone in the Texas area is welcome to visit his gravesite at Fort Sam Houston where he is being laid to rest with full honors on 10Dec at 0930 https://www.cem.va.gov/cems/nchp/ftsamhouston.asp
