Marjorie Letitia Green

Our beautiful mother, grandmother and great grandmother departed this earth peacefully in her sleep on November 4^th, 2023. She is home with her husband and first son. Marjorie L. Green was born on July 09, 223. She was the first child of a well to do middle class farming family in Opp, Alabama. Unfortunately her father died when she was only 3 years old; she ended up living with her Aunts and Uncles most of her childhood years. She attended Secretary School in Fort Walton Beach, Florida when she was 19 years old. It was there Marjorie met the love of her life and husband of 61 years, Billy Jack Green. They married the next year and then her pilot husband deployed to Europe in WWII. Her first child, Billy, was 6 months old before Bill even saw him. Such was the life of a military family then and now. Marjorie endured many hardships during her life, including the loss of her son, Billy, to a hit and run driver while they were stationed in Lima, Peru. She spent her life as a housewife; there simply was none better. My sister, Cheryl, and I never went to school without a good breakfast, and always had a hot meal at dinner, precisely at 5:30PM each night. It is an understatement to say mother was the kindest of people. She will rest in peace as there is no doubt she is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We will miss her, but always with a smile on our faces. We love you Mom.

A Celebration of Marjorie's life will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, November 10, 2023 at the Army Residence Center Chapel. Reception will follow at 2:00PM.
