Marjorie Doyle

September 18, 1933 — March 15, 2022

Frances Mabe Doyle packed her bags and took off to be with our Lord on March 15th, 2022. Born in Louisville, KY and moved to San Antonio when she was 8 yr old with her parents and 7 siblings.  When she was very young she struggled with Polio but her inner strength and her family pulled her through that difficult time.

Frances found the love of her life at 14 years old when she met Bill Doyle.  She was married at 16 and Bill was only 19!  She traveled the world with him as a Military wife and raised 2 daughters as a devoted homemaker, wife and mother.  They lived in Texas, Hawaii, Louisiana, California, Japan, Philippines, Wyoming, before retiring back in San Antonio.  She was totally dedicated to her family and she and Bill had 66 years together.  She and Bill loved to dance and boy oh boy could they swing it on the dancefloor!! They belonged to many Bowling leagues through their lives and loved to gather with friend and family.  She loved to sew, and for many years she loved doing her stained glass.  She was an avid reader and was hooked on crossword puzzles, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and anything that challenged her mind.  She and Bill always owned a boat where ever they lived and both loved to swim and fish.  Their Lake House at Medina Lake was the site for many family gatherings, Fish Fries, Fishing, skiing, swimming and celebrations.  Frances loved her children and she was a ‘Hero’ to her grandchildren, and adored by her great grandchildren. She had a special bond with all of her nieces and nephews because she was so kind hearted, Protective and giving. She leaves us with a big hole in our hearts and will be missed.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Mabe and Stella Miller Mabe; siblings, Louise, Mildred, Margaret, Linda, Jeanie, Norman and David. She is survived by her children, Margaret Leah Doyle and husband Marc Keltner, Stella Kathleen Doyle Cornett and husband Steve Cornett; grandchildren, Christina and husband Christian Garner, Candy and husband Mark West and Leemichael Doyle; great grandchildren, Mark West, Rylee West and Emilee West.

A Visitation will take place from 4:00PM - 7:00PM, with the Rosary to begin at 6:00PM, on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Schertz Funeral Home.
