Obituary

Marilyn Jacobs, 89, passed away at home on June 13, 2026. She was born February 9, 1937 in Texas City, TX. She was the oldest child of James Frantz Edgar and Laverne Melton Edgar.

 Marilyn Joan Edgar, married the love of her life Cecil “Sonny” H. Jacobs, Jr and they had 68 years together before he passed in 2020. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Pam and Kim.

Marilyn loved the Lord and her family. She was very active in the church where she served in many capacities. Marilyn’s favorite place to travel was Hawaii. She loved all things Elvis and most recently enjoyed watching Patrick Mahomes. Marilyn was preceded in death by parents James and Laverne Edgar and her beloved husband Sonny. Marilyn is survived by her two daughters Pam McCormick and Kimberly Hilland and husband Jeff; three grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Jose, Kelcie, Kalyn and husband Gage; great-grandchildren, Ray, Jose, Jr., Jeremy, Justin, Liana and her husband Chris and their children, Trenton (TJ), Macyn, Kambri, Kollyns; and a great-great-grandchild, Yessica. She is survived by her sister Myra and husband Mike Harris their children Jimmy, Robbie, Brandi and her husband Randy Rodriguez and all of Myra’s grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time over the years with cousins Rusty and Robin Brechot and their family as well as the Melton family and many other friends.
