Pratt

Maria Luisa Pratt
1937 — 2026
Maria Luisa Pratt, 88, of Schertz, Texas, passed away on March 12, 2026. Born in the rugged beauty of Reserve, New Mexico, Maria was a woman of sharp wit, dedicated service, and a love story that became family legend.
It was in an Albuquerque bar decades ago that Maria met the absolute love of her life, Larry Pratt. As the story goes, she didn’t just catch his eye—she stole his beer and his heart in one fell swoop. That bold introduction led to 64 years of marriage built on laughter, deep devotion, and adventure. These two lovebirds spent their decades together dancing and traveling across the world, making lifelong friends everywhere they went. Larry preceded her in death in 2023, and her family takes great comfort in knowing they are finally reunited and dancing once again.
Maria’s professional life was defined by her commitment to her country, serving with distinction as a federal civil servant for the United States government in the field of finance. Her sharp mind and unwavering integrity earned her the respect of all who worked with her. Beyond her career, Maria and Larry were active servants in their church, where their faith and kindness built a wide circle of cherished friends.
Her greatest legacy remains the family she nurtured. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Susan Cronk and her husband Russel, and Mona Schuster and her husband Rick. She also played a vital role in raising Larry’s daughter, Marie Carr. Maria’s influence and spirited nature live on through her eight grandchildren: Michael, Vicki, Marvin, Ember, Eric, Rachel, Angela, and Julia, as well as her many great-grandchildren.
Services for Maria Luisa Pratt will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 beginning with a Rosary at 10:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM.
