Maria Luisa Glenn

She is survived by her children Rob Glenn and wife Beth, Brian Glenn and wife Tricia, and Cathy Rioux and husband David.  Mary Lou also leaves behind two brothers: Jose “Joe” Lopez and Esteban “Steve” Lopez, Jr. as well as 5 grandchildren: Caitlin Glenn, Tyler Glenn, Kristen Rioux, Kyle Rioux, and Emma Rioux.

After graduating from New Braunfels High School and attending Incarnate Word College, Mary Lou met the love of her life in San Antonio, TX when he “claimed” he needed help with college Algebra.  They later married on June 19, 1961 in New Braunfels, TX.  She was a wonderful teacher and taught business and algebra classes for many years.  Mary Lou enjoyed being an active member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Xi Phi Chi Sorority, San Antonio Women’s Club, and other church-related service organizations.  She also spent her time taking on various craft hobbies such as cross-stitch, crochet, knitting, and even basket-weaving.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, annual tamale-making with her friends in Del Rio, and watching her grandchildren play sports.

Mary Lou will always be remembered for her dedication, generosity, kindness, and her loving nature.  She will be deeply missed by many.  In lieu of flowers she has requested donations be made to the American Heart Association. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 12:00PM to 2:00PM at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel (2217 FM 3009, Schertz, TX 78154) followed by a chapel service and internment at 2:30PM at Holy Cross Cemetery (17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX 78266).
