Maria Dora De Los Santos Lopez, 81, of Schertz, Texas, peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 6, 1944, in Marion, Texas, Dora lived a life defined by faith, compassion, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She was truly one of a kind. Dora was a loving mother, cherished grandmother, and proud great-grandmother whose gentle but fierce spirit, generous heart, and quiet strength touched the lives of all who knew her. She found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved and creating lasting memories with her family.
During her years at East Central High School, Dora was an accomplished student who embraced every opportunity to lead and serve. She excelled on the basketball team, served as President of the Library Club, was Top Sergeant of the Pep Squad, and was an active member of both the Press Club and Future Homemakers of America (FHA). After graduating in 1963, Dora worked as a beauty operator before beginning her career in Opthamology at Joske's. She later joined Ophthalmology Associates, which eventually became MCOA, where she faithfully served for the next 38 years. Her kindness, compassion, dedication, and strong work ethic earned the respect and admiration of everyone who knew her. Throughout her career, Dora formed lifelong friendships and touched the lives of everyone she had the privilege of knowing. Her warm smile, caring heart, and genuine love for others left a lasting impression that will never be forgotten.
Above all, Dora's greatest calling and deepest joy was her family. Her greatest concern was always the well-being of her four children, to whom she was wholeheartedly devoted. She was a constant source of love, guidance, and encouragement, making it a priority to be present for every milestone & celebration in their lives. Dora faithfully taught her children about God, instilled in them the importance of living according to His Word, and led by example through her faith, compassion, and unconditional love. The values she passed on became the foundation of her family and will continue to guide them for generations to come.
One of Dora's greatest joys was creating lasting memories with her family, especially through their cherished trips to Disney. A lifelong Disney enthusiast, she looked forward to annual family vacations to Walt Disney World and Disneyland, where laughter, togetherness, and unforgettable moments were always at the heart of every visit. As the years passed, those treasured vacations became a beloved family tradition, creating memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who shared them with her.
She especially loved baseball and football and was a devoted Judson Rockets football fan and season ticket holder for more than 45 years. Rarely missing a game, Dora became a familiar face in the Judson community, cheering on generations of student-athletes with pride and enthusiasm. Her dedication and service to the school and community were recognized during the 2023–2024 football season, when she received the Judson High School Community Spotlight Award. It was an honor that reflected the countless hours, encouragement, and love she so selflessly gave to others.
Dora is lovingly survived by her children: daughter Linda Gonzalez and husband Lucio; son Andres Lopez and wife Ann; daughter Lisa Lopez; and son Steven Lopez and wife Janelle. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Jacob, Gabrielle, Alyssa, MariLisa, Annesa, Caleb, Aidiana, and Alannah; her treasured great-grandchildren, Ezra and Naiomi; her beloved brother, Rudy De Los Santos; her dear sister, Martha Sanchez; along with many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benigno and Maria Angelina De Los Santos, and by her siblings Hector, Humberto, Maria Bertha, Benigno Jr., and Joe De Los Santos.
Although her family grieves the loss of her earthly presence, they find peace and comfort in knowing she is rejoicing in the loving arms of her Savior in heaven. Dora's love and devotion to God were the foundation of her life, guiding every decision she made. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit, legacy, wisdom, and love will remain a source of strength and inspiration for all whose lives she touched.
This is not goodbye. As our family learned through so many cherished Disney memories together, it's simply "See You Real Soon." We take comfort in knowing that, by God's grace, we will one day be together again. Until then, we will carry your love, your faith, and your memory in our hearts forever.

John 14:1-3
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
