Margaret Oliva Padrick ODocharty, loving sister, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend passed away on September 25, 2008. Margaret was born on January 5, 1930, to Mose and Frances Padrick in Wilmington, North Carolina. Margaret loved bingo, crafts, and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Pat Padrick, and father of her children, Dave Patrick ODocharty. Margaret is survived by a brother Harry Padrick of Wilmington, NC; children and their spouses, Margie and Mike Eickleberry, D. Pat and Paula ODocharty, Karen and Ed Povlish, Mike and Sashiko ODocharty and Paula ODocharty; eight grandchildren, Eric, Mark, Erin, Matthew, Ryann, Sara, Maura, and Lea; two great-granddaughters, Addie & Violet and also another great-grandchild who is expected in February 2009. As a military wife, Margaret traveled to Europe and throughout the United States. Through these travels she became an integral part of each community. From making rosaries for missions and her Altar Society duties in Alaska, to her days as a detention officer in Flour Bluff High School, she touched many lives. While living in Schertz, TX, she was a resident board member for the Schertz Housing Authority. Her work with crafts, whether it was her crocheted masterpieces or her ever popular beaded necklaces and bracelets, kept her active. She always looked for people who needed a kind word or a helping hand. Even after she was unable to be as active as she would have liked, her hugs and sweet smiles were always helpful to those who had the benefit of spending time with her. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM (with Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM) on Sunday, September 28, 2009 at Schertz Funeral Home, 2217 FM 3009, Schertz, Texas. A Mass will be Celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday, September 29, 2008 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma with Father Eric Ritter as the Celebrant, 16075 Evans Road, Selma, Texas. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Road, San Antonio. A special thanks to Heartland of San Antonio and Christus Homecare.
