Manuel Camarillo Cruz 74 of Cedar Hill, TX passed away February 29, 2008 at Charlton Methodist Hospital, Dallas, TX. He was born in Marion, TX on August 21, 1933. He was a Vietnam veteran and retired from the United States Air Force and also from Trinity Industries, Dallas, TX. Survivors include his wife of 24 yrs, Patricia Cruz; one stepdaughter, Rebecca Yingling of Hutchinson, KS and one stepson, Lawrence Foster of Lawton, OK and 7 step grandchildren. Also surviving from a previous marriage to Audrey Cruz are their four children, David A. Cruz and wife, Rachel of Davie, NC, Susan Cruz Groenwoldt and Carol A. Cruz, both of Vero Beach, FL and Richard L. Cruz and wife, Danette of Alexandria, LA; 6 grandchildren; two brothers, Jesus (Jesse) Cruz of Deerpark, TX and Concepcion (Concho) Cruz of Kirby, TX; two half sisters, Tita (Cruz) Leisure of Loveland, CO and Gloria (Cruz) Vallejo of Brownsville, TX and close cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Anastacio C, Cruz, mother,Refugio Comarilla and brother, Felipe Cruz. Manuel enjoyed his life by playing softball, cross country truck driving, bowling and also was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. His family originated in Universal City, TX and he will be joining his father in the Selma Cemetery in Selma, TX. Visitation will be held Monday, March 3, 2008 from 4-8 PM and a Rosary will follow at 8 PM at Schertz Funeral Home, 2217 F.M.3009, Schertz, TX. A Mass will be Celebrated Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 9 AM at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Schertz, TX. The family has asked for memorial donations to be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA, 22312. 1800-Diabetes (1-800-342-2383) www.diabetes.org.
