Luis Maldonado Luitin, 75, born in Brownsville Texas unexpectedly passed away on February 22, 2022.
Luis was born May 31, 1946, to Olga Maldonado and Victor Huerta Luitin. He was the oldest and only son having 5 sisters. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1963. He expanded his education throughout his service, and he served aboard two submarines including the USS Andrew Jackson SSBN 619 and the USS Ulysses S Grant SSBN 619. Keeping his oath ensuring anything he worked on stayed classified. He was later discharged in 1967.
Luis then married Rose Torres on February 24, 1968. Having 2 children, Irene and Luis. He started working at Southwestern Bell in 1970, until he retired in 2001 now known as AT&T. Even being retired Luis would constantly work on projects, cars, helping family and friends with repairs, and anything he could learn more from. He was always full of jokes and loved to spend time with his family. He was a joy to be around and will be forever loved and missed.
Luis is preceded in death by his mother Olga, father Victor, and son-in-law William Shannon Moffitt. He is survived by his loving wife Rose Luitin, daughter Irene Moffitt, son Luis Luitin Jr, granddaughter Kassandra Lynn Moffitt, sisters, Maria, Rosa, Martha, Olga, and San Juana.
The Memorial Service will be held at Fort Sam Houston on March 28, 2022, at 2:45 pm at Committal Shelter 5. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested to donate to SA YES ( www.sayes.org ), please mention Luis Luitin in the comments section of the donation.
