Lillian “Frances” Blakley from Marion, Texas passed peacefully into eternal life at the age of 80 on January 11th, 2023. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 28, 1942, and was the daughter of the late Travis and Mary Wheeler. Frances was married to Jimmy Blakley, the love of her life, for 53 years until his passing. For 17 years, she worked in the school cafeteria for Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD and retired early to raise her grandchildren Lillian, Elizabeth, and Hank. One of her passions was working with ceramics and she shared many beautiful pieces with family and friends. Frances was Baptist and a born-again Christian. She lived out her faith with a servant’s heart, always putting the needs of others before her own. Being of her faith, she enjoyed reading from her Bible Promises Book daily. Frances is survived by four children: Mary Bednarz and husband-Stan, Syndi Hudson, James Blakley and girlfriend-Kathleen Haecker, Jennifer Deal and husband-Larry, 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and her beloved cat, Whiskers. She was also preceded in death by her loving sister, Janie Wheeler.
Celebration of life for Frances will be held at Schertz Funeral Home on Monday, 1/16/2023 with visitation at 10am and service following at 11am. Following the service, there will be a procession to St. John Lutheran Cemetery at 100 W. Wetz Street in Marion, TX. The family welcomes you to attend a reception following at 236 Valmet Drive in New Braunfels, Texas 78130.
