Levon was born August 14, 1939 in Belleville, Alabama to Lillian and Theophilus Green. He spent his final days surrounded by his family and entered into eternal rest on May 2, 2022.
Levon attended Conecuh County training School in Evergreen, Alabama and joined the U.S. Air Force after graduation. He served many tours of duty to include overseas assignments in Vietnam and Germany. He received the Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm in recognition of heroic conduct in a combat zone. While stationed at Lowry Air Force Base, Colorado he retired from the Air Force with over 20 years of honorable service. He also completed over 18 years of Civil Service before retiring in Pensacola, Florida. Levon received Christ at an early age and became a deacon. He served in this capacity at Greater Union Missionary Baptist Church before leaving Florida. He was very active in his community and well-respected and loved by his family and friends. When he moved to Texas, he joined Resurrection Baptist Church.
Levon was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Marvin Green and sister Eddie Mae Pouncy (Frank)
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of over 61 years, Dora C. Green, his daughters Cynthia Green-LaVersa and Sherry Beatty (Francisco), his granddaughters Danielle Biele (Richard); Nicole Beatty; Lauren Hudak (Jon) and his grandson Andino LaVersa. He also leaves behind his sister Bonnie Moulds-Green, brothers Skippy Montgomery and Theophilus (Brother) Green Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Resurrection Baptist Church of Schertz, Texas. Interment will immediately follow at 1:00PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made in Levon Green's honor to the American Red Cross or plant a memorial tree.
