Leticia Martinez

Leticia Martinez (née Gomez), age 56 of Cibolo, TX left us to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 after a struggle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband, Gerardo Martinez-Carrillo, four children, and eight grandchildren. Leticia was born on April 27, 1964 in Guanajuato, Mexico to Luciano and Marcelina Gomez. Leticia was mother to Alberto Martinez (wife, Diana), Leonardo Martinez (wife, Angela), Abigail Martinez-Silva (husband, Marcello), and Claudia Vega (husband, Christopher). Leticia was a doting grandmother to Adan, Alejandro, Vicente, Matilda, Alonzo, Azul, Adeline, and Luciano. Leticia’s siblings are Veronica Sanchez, Rosa Carmona, Lydia Munoz, Francisco Gomez, Maria Gomez, and she is preceded in death by her father, Luciano, and brother, Arturo Gomez.

Leticia was an incredibly hard worker, outstanding cook, and a nurturer to all. She was a dedicated mother who, even after coming home from work exhausted, would always put a delicious dinner on the table, listen to her children’s stories, and tend to her family. In her later years, she was always found with one of her grandkids in her lap and giving the sweetest hugs and kisses. In all her life, she was known to put others’ feelings and needs first. Because of the legacy she has left, her children and grandchildren have learned what resilience, perseverance, and love are supposed to look like. The family’s loss of Leticia is devastating, and she will be endlessly missed.

A Visitation will be held from 9:00am - 9:00pm on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Schertz Funeral Home, with a Rosary being recited at 5:00pm.
