Cibolo

In Loving Memory of LeRoy Lawson Jr.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, LeRoy Lawson Jr., who entered eternal rest at the age of 59 at his home in Cibolo, Texas, surrounded by loved ones.

LeRoy was born on October 3, 1966, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Annie Mae Lathon and LeRoy Lawson Sr. He was raised with the guidance of his stepfather, Mr. Twill McCall, and his grandmother, Annie E. Lathon, who played important roles in his early life.

He attended Emmaus Lutheran for grade school and graduated from Washington High School at 17 years old. In 1985, with his parents’ consent, LeRoy joined the United States Air Force. He dedicated nearly 27 years to honorable military service before retiring.

During his career, LeRoy served in key leadership and technical roles, including Communications Computer Systems Operator, Contingency and War Planner, and Client Systems Superintendent. He earned multiple honors for his service, including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, and the Joint Meritorious Unit Award. While serving, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity from University of Maryland University College and completed as many as thirteen Information Technology certifications.

After retiring from the Air Force, LeRoy continued his work in national service as a Federal government employee and later as a government contractor, serving as a Cybersecurity Engineer. He launched his business, CG2, and served on the Alamo Colleges Department of Mathematics, Engineering, and Computing Cyber Advisory Board.

LeRoy valued family above all else. He cherished his wife, Stefanie, enjoyed traveling with her, and took pride in being a devoted father to his daughter, Tori Leigh. He found deep joy in becoming a grandfather.

A lifelong sports fan, LeRoy supported the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Bucks. He enjoyed basketball, roller skating, and biking. He will be remembered for his laughter, humor, and sense of style.

LeRoy is survived by his wife, Stefanie Lawson; his daughter, Tori Leigh Lawson (Axel); his grandchildren, Cairo and Nile; his parents, LeRoy Lawson Sr. and Annie Mae McCall; his sisters, Angela, Sheryl, and Carolynn; his brother, Rodney; his stepbrother, Chad; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his stepfather, Mr. Twill McCall, and his stepsister, Regina McCall.

A Funeral Service honoring LeRoy will begin at 2:00PM on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel.
