Leonard Urbanski

October 17, 1933 — February 19, 2008

Leonard J. Urbanski, age 74 of Marion, passed away on February 19, 2008. He was born to Steve & Mary Frances Urbanski on October 17, 1933 in Lockhart, Texas. Leonard is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Tammy Golla, Seguin; son, Daryl Urbanski, Marion; sisters, Isabel Stanley, Dallas and Gertrude Pierdolla & husband, Daniel, San Antonio; grandchildren, Michael Golla, Jr., Megan Golla, Nicholas Golla and Nathaniel Golla, Seguin & several nieces and nephews. Leonard was a bowling enthusiast and was a member of the Bexar Bowling Club, Highlands Bowling Club and the Martinez Bowling Club. He played softball in San Antonio for many years and was known as the Homerun King. Leonard played with the San Antonio Texans and holds the record for performing the only triple play in Texans history. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM (with a Rosary being Recited at 7:00 PM) on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Schertz Funeral Home. A Mass will be Celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 22, 2008 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Marion with Father Gregory Nevlud as the Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: St. Lukes Childrens Hospital or Charity of Choice.
