Laurel Kane

August 15, 1939 — February 3, 2021

Laurel Ann Kane, 81, of Brenham, TX, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. She was born August 15, 1939 to William and Birdie Foster in San Antonio, TX.  She married Michael Dunn on June 9, 1956.  They had four children together: Michael Jr., Denise, Kenneth and Tina.  She married Leo Kane in March 1988.  She attended Blessed Sacrament and San Antonio College.

Laurel was a very artistic person and loved lots of color.  She was a painter, but her passion was decorating.  She always had a lovely home.  She also enjoyed working in her yard.  She loved her family and her Savior, Jesus Christ, above all.

Laurel is survived by her husband, Leo Kane; children: Michael Dunn Jr., Denise (Ed) Dumas, Kenneth Dunn, and Tina (William) Holzer; stepsons: Ed, Mike and Joe Kane; grandchildren: Danny (Stephanie) Baugh, Cherith (Tom) Baker, Robert Baugh, Kenneth Jr. (Hannah) Dunn, Jonathan Dunn, Stephen (Hannah) Dumas, Natasha (Joshua Canez) Dunn, Caitlyn (Eric) Boles, Howard Holzer, Emily (Miles) Locke, Karl Holzer, Mary Katherine (Zachary) Zieschang, and Brandon Dunn; great-grandchildren: Riley, Liam, Jameson, Ethan, Dylan, Meagan, Nora, River, Willow, Madeline, Elias, Oliver, Opal, Esther, and Georgie; sisters: Jeanette (Jack) Donohue, Janice Foster, and Theresa (Frank) Allen; brother: James (Kathryn) Foster; former daughter-in-law: Darla Dunn; former sisters and brother-in-law: Alice (Jack) Duncan, Mary Catherine Hoye, Mitzi Dunn, Pete Holder, and Marie Dunn; as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents, William and Birdie Foster; infant brother, William; and niece, Patricia Donohue.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Schertz Funeral Home (with Visitation beginning at 10:00AM).  A private Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Laurel's name to Hospice Brazos Valley at 302 E Blue Bell Rd, Brenham, TX 77833.
