Laura Mutchler

Laura Lynn Mutchler passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 16, 2020. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 5, 1970 to her mother and best friend Sue McLemore and father, Herbert T. Giles III. Leaving behind her only sibling, Johnny Giles, whom she will be protecting now from the heavens above along with his wife Lisa Giles who she loved as a sister. She found her soulmate and beloved husband, Gerald Mutchler Jr. when she was only 15 years old and they married 2 years later. Spending the next 33 years together Laura and Gerald shared a life of adventure and love. They had 4 beautiful children. Cody Mutchler, Kathryn Mutchler, Austin Mutchler and Brent Mutchler. Brent the youngest of her children was Down Syndrome she dedicated her life to raising and teaching them all about life’s blessing. Her children wouldn’t be who they are today without her. She taught her children how to never give up and to always go after their dreams. Laura not only was an amazing wife, daughter, sister, and mother but an outstanding grandmother. Luke, Kelsea, Aria, Alina, and Adelyn will always cherish their grandmothers love and spirit. Laura also had a unbreakable bond with her daughter in law, Marisela Mutchler (wife of Austin Mutchler). As life presented Laura with many obstacles, she surrounded herself with god and family. She was able to find peace and was creating a new foundation to rebuild her life. She spent her final days either sewing masks and watching movies with her mother, hanging out with her grand babies or singing next to her husband while he played the guitar. Laura cherished family time and adored all who came into her life. She was passionate, kind, and courageous. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Schertz Funeral Home chapel.  Funeral Mass will be conducted on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, 11:30am, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, in Schertz, TX.
