Larry Don Garrett, 78, resident of Live Oak, Texas for more than 45 years went to be with the Lord on Saturday May 3, 2025.
He was born on December 20, 1946, in Tulia, Texas. His parents were Robert & Jonelle Garrett. Larry had one older brother, Robert “Ronnie” Garrett. Larry was a proud member of the Amarillo PD & served as Chief of Police in Lake Side, Texas. In 1977, Larry became a truck driver and spent the rest of his professional life as a long-haul truck driver. In 1969 Larry met the love of his life, Becky. They were married on November 29, 1970, at the First Baptist Church in Wheeler, Texas. Throughout their marriage they enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, going on road trips and most of all spending time with their 3 girls, 5 grandchildren & 4 great-grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his wife, Becky Garrett, his 3 daughters, Kristie, Jena & Donni Garrett & one niece, Tracy McCall, his 5 grandchildren, Michele (Justin), Austin (Mikayla), Koby (Mackenzie), Kolton, Karson (Xina) and his 4 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Novella, Hadley & David. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Robert & Jonelle Garrett and by his older brother Robert “Ronnie” Garrett.
