MSgt. Lacy C Anderson, USAF (Ret.) the beloved son of the late Ernest Calvin and Dorothy Barney Anderson was born on September 21,1950 and departed this life on April 21, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas.
Lacy was educated in the public school system of Columbia SC and graduated in 1969. Lacy was drafted into the Air Force and served 22 years before retiring. Lacy travelled the world and served tours in Vietnam, Germany, Holland, England and the United States. During his military career he met his wife Irena in England and had two children. After leaving the military, Lacy continued with a career in Civil Service serving Military personnel on Randolph Air Force Base for over 20 years.
Lacy had the heart of 1000 angels and was passionate about his family. He lovingly preserved the home his father built-his childhood home-always ensuring it would be a place where anyone in need could find shelter. Lacy was the most generous and kind man who gave freely. His love was selfless and consistent without hesitation. Lacy took great pride in his children, always supporting and celebrating their lives, accomplishments with unwavering love.
Lacy is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest C. and Dorothy Barney Anderson, four brothers, Jimmy, William, Ernest Anderson II, and Rodney Anderson; and one brother-in-law Joseph Daniel Eaddy.
Lacy leaves to cherish his wife of 45 years Irena Anderson, one son Lacy Jr, one daughter Sabrina and one grandson Isaiah. One brother Ricky Anderson of Columbia SC, four sisters, Dorothy L Anderson of Columbia, SC; Robin A Eaddy of Columbia SC; Crystal (Russell) Burkett of Hopkins SC; April (Mitchell) Cobbs of Columbia SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
A Visitation for Lacy Anderson will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Schertz Funeral Home beginning at 5:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held the next day, Friday, May 9, 2025 beginning at 12:00 PM with Graveside Services to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery beginning at 1:30 PM.
