Katherine L. Fletcher

Katherine Louise Fletcher, 79, of Marion, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025. She was born on January 14, 1946, in San Antonio, Texas, and was the cherished daughter of the late Freddy Sassman Sr. and Viola Sassman.

Katherine lived a full, hardworking, and loving life. She dedicated many years of her career to Yellow Freight, where she was known for her strong work ethic and commitment. Beyond her professional life, Katherine found joy in square dancing, traveling, and caring for children—activities that reflected her warm and generous spirit.

She was a devoted mother to Particia Martinez and Sandra Ryan, and a proud grandmother to Kian Ryan-Casillas, Makilah Martinez, and Kingston Martinez. Her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.

Visitation will be held at Schertz Funeral Home on December 16, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at the same location on December 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with burial to take place afterward at Bracken Community Cemetery at 12:30 PM.
