After retirement, he went on to serve an additional 22 years of government civil service for the United States Air Force working in the same information technology field often on the same floor in the same building he served on during his military service.

Junior was a life-long University of Tennessee Volunteers fan and an avid golfer. Junior obtained an associate degree and multiple information technology certificates. In retirement, he often watched golf tournaments, car shows, and cooking shows while surfing the internet. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family often being the “photographer” of the group because he always wanted to have photos of what was happening in their lives.

Junior is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Jo; son, Greg (Heather); daughters, Amanda (Chuck), and Valerie Anne. He is survived by his grandchildren, Kelsie, Katie (Weeble), Daniel (Rachel), Parker, and Logan, and a great grandson, Matthew. Junior is also survived by a brother, Joe (Pam); sister, Joyce; stepsister, Christine Bise; sisters-in-law, Maureen, Rose, Marie (Jeff) and Margaret (Doug); and brothers-in-law, Thomas (Jackie) and Richard (Rick). Junior has many nieces, nephews and cousins who were very important and close to him throughout his life. Finally, he has many lifelong friends who are family, like Dennie Haynes, and lifelong colleagues who became family, like Alan Henness. Junior is preceded in death by his father, Shirley, his mother, Sylvia, his brother, Johnny, and his grandparents.
