Joseph Glen Pezzino was called to the Lord on Sunday, February 15, 2026. Joe, as he was known, was born in Buffalo, NY on July 30, 1954, to the late Salvatore Joseph Pezzino of Erie and Rose Ann (Taboni) Pezzino of Buffalo. Joe grew up in Buffalo and enlisted in the United States Army in 1971. He loved serving his country and traveling where the Army sent him including Hawaii, Germany, Colorado, and South Carolina. He left the military in 1988, and his highest rank was Staff Sergeant.
Joe has two sons, Joesph Pezzino and Louis Salvatore Pezzino (wife, Jennifer), all of San Antonio, TX. Joe also raised his granddaughter; Elizabeth Marie and they were father and daughter to each other. The adoption of Elizabeth will be finalized upon her birthday in March 2026.
Joe met and married his wife of 30 years, Linda Frances Wilson Pezzino, in 1995. They resided in San Antonio until 2007 when they moved to Buffalo. In 2012, he and his family moved to Erie and in 2021, they bought a home in Corry and currently live.
After serving his country, Joe became a flooring salesman. After several years of learning the trade, Joe went to work for San Antonio Carpet World, the largest flooring company in South Texas. He was promoted to store manager and was “Salesman of the Year” for six consecutive years. He continued flooring sales in Buffalo and decided on something very different when he moved to Erie. He became the baker at Tim Horton’s on 38th St. for many years. He loved the change and enjoyed his job. He made many friends. Joe didn’t enjoy retirement, he became bored and in 2024 went to work at the Corry Walmart, where he was still employed until his death. Joe loved to fish, spend time with his family, playing card games, and watching Hallmark Christmas movies. Joe also served as the East County Chair for the Erie County Republican Committee for several years.
Joe is survived by his wife, Linda; two sons, Joey, and Louis (Jennifer); daughter, Elizabeth; sisters, Rose Marie and Michelle; brother, Anthony; grandchildren, Joseph (Joey), and Alexis (Louie); great-grandchildren, Ricky and Eli (Joseph) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Sam and Peter.
His family would like to thank the Erie and Pittsburgh VA Medical Centers for the incredible care they gave Joe. He was blessed with so many nurses and doctors that gave such comfort to him and his family.
Friends are invited to call on Friday from 3 pm until the time of a parlor service at 7 pm at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38th Street. Joe will be buried with full military honors at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX. The family requests donations be made to the Pittsburgh Fisher House in Joe’s name at https://www.pittsburghfisherhouse.org/
