Joseph Cervera

With his family by his side, Joseph R. Cervera, 73, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022.

Joseph was born in San Antonio on October 2, 1948. Graduated from St. James the Apostle Catholic School, is a 1968, Burbank High School alumnus; and proudly served four years in the U.S. Navy.

He began his 35 year career with Southwestern Bell (AT&T), in 1972, retiring as an Area Manager. His second career was with the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD, for 16 years. Retiring as the initial individual promoted to Operations Supervisor.

Joseph is survived by his loving, heartbroken wife of 49 years, Judy Cervera; son J.T. Cervera (Rachelle); daughter Kathryn Castillo (Joseph); granddaughter Nea; grandson Isaac; father-in-law, Johnnie H. Arispe; brothers, Ruben Cervera (Suki); Roger Cervera (Margie); Ron Cervera, numerous nieces, nephews, other beloved family members and wonderful friends.

Services will commence Tuesday, January 25, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (OLPH), 16075, N. Evans Rd, Selma, TX.

Visitation, 9:45 a.m., Rosary 10:30 a.m., Mass 11 a.m., followed by burial at O.L.P.H. Cemetery. Reception to follow, in the pastoral center immediately following the services.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the O.L.P.H. Catholic School Endowment Fund are appreciated.
