United States Army SFC (Retired) Jose Manuel Marin-Garcia passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026 at 10:40 PM at his home with his loving wife by his side.

Jose was born on September 16, 1946 in Patillas, Puerto Rico to Rodrigo and Victorina Marin. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carmen Marin; sons, Jose M. Jr., Hector (Emily), and William (Gena); daugther, Carmen (Michael) McCaleb; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren who adored their Papa.

A Visitation for Jose will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 from 5:00-8:00 PM with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 PM at Schertz Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held the next day at Good Shepherd Catholic Church at 11:30 AM with a Graveside Service to follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help - Selma #2 Cemetery at 1:15 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
