Johnnie Frances Ezernack, 78, of Schertz, Texas, peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, after a long struggle with Lewy Body Dementia.
Born on December 2, 1947, in McGregor, Texas, Johnnie was the daughter of Lee Roy Allbritton and Altha Mae Orr. She was a loving woman whose home was always open to everyone. Johnnie had a passion for cooking, baking, and crafting, and she was especially known for her cake decorating—no one’s birthday was complete without one of her beautiful cakes. She was also a devoted fan of the New Orleans Saints.
In 1968, Johnnie married Joseph Ezernack in Bossier City, Louisiana. During their 44 years together, they welcomed three children: Samuel Ezernack, Tracy Bernhagen (Ezernack), and Tara Ezernack. As a proud military wife, Johnnie had the privilege of traveling and meeting new people wherever her husband’s service took them, enriching her life with diverse experiences and friendships.
Johnnie is survived by her son, Sam Ezernack (Trina); daughters Tracy Bernhagen (Raymond) and Tara Ezernack; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; her brothers, Donnie Allbritton and Roy Spivey; sister, Vonnie Butler; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ezernack; her mother, Altha Mae Orr; her father, Lee Roy Allbritton; and her sister, Wanda Sullivan.
Johnnie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
A Memorial Service for Johnnie will be held at Schertz Funeral Home on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 3:00 PM.
