John Quintanilla

John Joseph Quintanilla, 61, passed away on September 23, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on September 22, 1960 in San Benito, Texas to parents, Fidencio and Graciela (Medrano) Quintanilla. In 1979, John graduated from Highlands High School. He started college at Texas State, where he met his future wife, Paula – they married when John was 25 years old. John worked in housing and community development for various companies. He enjoyed reading, watching and playing football and basketball with his kids, and working to provide for his family. John was never ashamed of being a Christian and never shied away from sharing his faith. Helping others was second nature to him.

John was preceded in death by his son, Joel Quintanilla; in-laws, Josephine and J.J. James, who loved him as their own. He is survived by his loving wife, Paula Quintanilla; 8 children, Daniel, Hannah, Christina, Angela, Monica, Michael, Samuel and Gloria Quintanilla; parents, Fidencio and Graciela Quintanilla; siblings, Lucy, Fidencio, Jr., Gracy, Dina, Ruth, Isaac and Joshua; furry son, Mr.Patches; furry grandson, Po; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and sibling in-laws.

The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
