John Nicholas

John David Nicholas, age 66, of Schertz, Texas passed away on February 16, 2022. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee on September 23, 1955 to parents Robert and Mary Nicholas.

John was a very accomplished Fire Engineer. He had received many awards, to include but not limited to, multiple Fire Standards - Distinguished Service Awards of Appreciation, Performance of Building- Outstanding Service Award and an E. George Stern Award of Excellence. John contributed to multiple Fire Safety and Fire Standards publications and also had many Performance Committee affiliations, including being a former member of the National Fire Protection Association.

John was preceded by his father, Robert Nicholas. He is survived by daughter, Rachel Nicholas; son, David Nicholas; grandchildren, Xavier, Caleb, Christian, Sean and Jeremy; mother, Mary Nicholas; as well as many extended family members and friends.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00PM – 7:00PM – with the Rosary to be recited at 6:00PM- on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel.
