John Dilley

February 8, 1928 — August 19, 2008

John Wade Dilley was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania on February 8, 1928 and went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 19, 2008 at the age of eighty years. John was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing both flowers and plants. In his working life John was involved in a wide range of positions from being a professional Tap Dancer to the Manager of all the Florsheim shoe stores in South Texas. John loved people, and was a mentor to everyone till the end with the outlook of leading by example. Mr. Dilley is survived by his loving wife of Fifty Eight years, Juanita Dilley; daughter, Gloria Jordan and her husband Rodney of Garland, Texas; brother, Raymond Dilley of Mercer, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Kellie of Austin, Texas and Jessica of Garland, Texas; Nieces and nephews, Dale Dilley and his wife Bonnie of Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, Sandra Gregory of Brookfield Ohio and grand Niece, Barbara Gregory and her husband Robert of Kyle, Texas; and great grand-nephew, Jarod. John is preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Harvey Dilley and Evelyn formerly of Sharpsville, Pennsylvania and by sister-in-law, Marilyn Dilley, formerly of Mercer, Pennsylvania. A memorial service will be held at the Schertz United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Schertz United Methodist Church or to the American Cancer Society.
