Joanne Hoffman

March 13, 1935 — October 18, 2008

JoAnne L. (Kohnke) Hoffman was born 13 March 1935 to Frederick and Catherine Kohnke and went to be with her Lord and Savior on 18 October 2008. She was one of 17 children and was raised on the northside of Chicago, IL. During her life, JoAnne was an active church member involved in many projects. She was also an avid rubberstamper and scrapbooker. At one time, JoAnne served as the President for the Mariana, FL District United Methodist Women and was a strong supporter of the mission field including a trip to the rural area of Costa Rica. JoAnne loved to travel and was always on the go to new and favorite locations within the United States or enjoying herself on the deck and other areas of a cruise ship. She served as guest lecturer for arts and crafts on several cruises and imparted her love and design flare for greeting cards and scrapbook projects to many fellow passengers during her travels. She married Ed Hoffman in December 1970 and shared her enthusiasm for life with him for almost 38 years. JoAnne worked many places throughout life as she moved from Illinois to New Jersey, Florida, and finally to Schertz TX in 1992. She retired from Civil Service with the Air Force Mortuary Service in March 1995 and spent her retirement years working in her craft room when not traveling the country. In addition to her husband, left to mourn her passing are four children, Susan Stacken of Chicago, IL, Ron Donner & wife, Barbara of Parker, CO, Amy Hintosh of Centreville, VA and Neal Hagen of Florida; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at the Bracken United Methodist Church in Garden Ridge, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
