Jerry Sassie

Jerry Michael Sassie, of Garden Ridge, TX, passed away peacefully in his home February 24, 2023, at 74 years of age.  Jerry was born May 30, 1948, in Athens, TX.  He was a graduate of Conroe High School and spent most of his life in the Porter/New Caney area of Montgomery County.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working in his shop and spending time with local friends.  His parents were John Henry and Florence Elizabeth Sassie.  He is survived by his daughter, Kim Oppliger, and her husband Kyle, his second daughter, Jenna Sassie, and her husband Brandon Driggers, and his son, Joseph Sassie.  He leaves behind seven grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sister, Peggy Stone, and brother, John Sassie.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Claudia Essman.  Jerry preferred cremation and no formal services.
