Jerome Skrocki

May 31, 1938 — December 12, 2022

Jerome "Jerry" Skrocki, Major, USAF (Ret), passed away peacefully on Monday, December 12, 2022, at the age of 84.  Son of Leo and Henrietta (Jakubowski) Skrocki of Barberton, Ohio; he was the beloved brother to three sisters, Joan, Pat and Diane.  Jerry graduated from Akron University and commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force.  Shortly thereafter, he married Felicia D. Williams with whom he shared a lifetime of love and adventure.

Jerry proudly served in the United States Air Force for 21 years as a Civil Engineer.  After his military service that took him abroad and on remote assignments, Jerry resided in Universal City and worked as a facility manager in San Antonio.  He was a hardworking man, who loved his family and did everything he could to be sure they were well cared for and loved.  Jerry’s personality, stories and antics were enjoyed by his many friends and devoted family.  Together, Jerry and Felicia enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, collecting trains, serving in the local community and volunteering with the Universal City Police Academy.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Felicia, and their sons, Tom (Cheryl) Skrocki and Jeff (Tonya) Skrocki; grandchildren, Madeline, Alexandra, Sara and Scott; sisters, Pat (Paul) Adlaf and Diane (John) Andrews; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Henrietta Skrocki; sister and brother-in-law Joan (Jim) Smith, and leaves behind numerous loving relatives, friends and his beloved dog Tex.

The family would like to thank their many wonderful friends as well as the nurses and therapists of the Advanced Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Live Oak, for their love, care and compassion during Jerry’s final days.

An interment ceremony with military honors will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on January 5, 2023, at 1:30 PM, Shelter #3.  A celebration of Jerry’s life and storytelling will follow at Olympia Hills Golf and Event Center 12900 Mt Olympus, Universal City, TX 78148 from 2:30 to 5:30 PM.
