Jean Rae Wilkins

May 5, 1944 — November 2, 2023

Universal City, Texas

Jean Rae (Doutt) Wilkins, age 79, passed away at home on November 2, 2023, surrounded by her husband and three loving daughters. We rejoice knowing she is at home with her Lord, dancing in the presence of Jesus and is reunited with her son. Jean Rae was born on May 5, 1944 in Union City, Pennsylvania to Harold and Maybelle (Lafferty) Doutt. She graduated from Union City High School in 1963 and married her husband of 60 years, Eugene Wilkins, in August of that same year. She was a member of Union City Alliance Church and later Corry Alliance Church where she sang in the choir and served for many years in the AWANA program, Bible School, Children’s Church, and Backyard Bible Club. Jean Rae was known for her radiant and cheerful smile and her love of music, dancing and roller skating. She loved her dog Jackson who was a loyal companion and comfort to her. Jean Rae was a faithful caregiver and an honorary Mom and Nana to many over the years. Being a mother to her three daughters and a Nana to her five beloved grandchildren was her great joy. She is survived by her husband Gene; daughters Raenae, Michele (Brian), and Sonya (Jeff); as well as her grandchildren, Jordan, Kara (Carlos), Jacob (Kailey), Grace and Hannah; her great-grandson Ezra; siblings Wesley Doutt and Marilyn (Reuben) Bell. She was also Aunt Jeannie to her many nieces and nephews. In addition to her son, Mark Allen, she is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Stanley Doutt, Ed Doutt, Shirley Bobbins, and an infant brother. A private viewing was held for immediate family on Saturday, November 4, 2023. A celebration of life will be held in Union City, PA at a later date with interment at Loomis Cemetery in Bloomfield Township, PA. The family would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to Heart to Heart Hospice in San Antonio, Texas. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are encouraged to give to a charity or faith-based organization of your choice in Jean Rae’s honor.
