Janet Parham

Janet Schroeder Parham, 83, of Schertz, Texas passed away peacefully on the morning of September 10, 2023. Janet was born on January 26, 1940, in Wisconsin to Max and Sadie Schroeder. After her parents sold their dairy farm, they moved to Edinburg, Texas.

Janet moved to San Antonio, Texas where she would later meet and marry that farm boy from Indiana who was enlisted in the USAF and stationed at Randolph A.F.B. She leaves behind her loving husband of 64 years, Floyd Eddie Parham Sr.

She loved to cook, bake, and host holiday dinners. After Thanksgiving turkey, it was time to make the Christmas Fruit Cake and Never Fail Fudge, a family tradition for over 60 years.

She worked at Samuel Clemens High School and after 22 years, she retired from Schertz- Cibolo- Universal City Independent School District. She enjoyed camping and traveling, and she especially loved taking numerous cruises that included Alaska, Hawaii, and the Panama Canal.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, and her daughter, Kathy Ilene Parham.

Janet is survived by her husband, Floyd "Eddie" Parham Sr.; her daughter Denise Lynn Jackson of Cibolo, Texas; her son, Floyd "Eddie" Parham Jr., and his wife, Dion Davis, of Spring Branch, Texas; her loving sister, Beverly Black and her husband, David, of Kicaster, Texas; her grandchildren, Robert Bierschwale and his wife, Kim, of Milton, Florida, Amy Bierschwale of Schertz, Texas, Krystal Parham of Elmendorf, Texas and Anthony "TJ" Jackson and his wife, Mariah, of Schertz, Texas; and nine great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Tuesday September 19th, and will conclude with a short service and prayer. Interment will follow at 1:45 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the National Scoliosis Foundation or the American Heart Association.
