James LeRoy Simbeck, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, just 5 days after celebrating his 75th birthday. Jim was a devoted husband, father, Papa, brother and friend, whose love for his family was the most important part of his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Linda; his daughter, Linda Ann Anderson and his son-in-law Devin Anderson; his grandchildren, Morgan Anderson and Thatcher Anderson. He was proceeded in death by his parents and his siblings.

Jim was born on May 5, 1950, in Du Bois, PA. Jim served his country in the US Air Force 1968 – 1993. Jim worked for HEB 1993 – 2015, then he retired so he could spend time with his family and travel with his wife.

His first Air Force assignment was Çiğli AB, Turkey in support of NATO. In May 1969 Jim met his future wife Linda when his sister-in-law Theresa and Linda's Mom setup them up on a blind date, Jim was 19 and Linda 16. They fell in love and were engaged on December 25, 1969. On July 12, 1972, in Sumter, South Carolina on Shaw AFB they were joined in holy matrimony. Their honeymoon was a week in Rome, Italy and 4 day Mediterranean cruise to Izmir, Turkey.

His beloved grandson Thatcher was born July 15, 2009. Jim loved our weekly family lunches and game times with Morgan, Thatcher, Linda Ann and Devin. He loved playing nine holes of golf and left, right, center.

Jim retired from the Air Force in May 1993 and began working for HEB because he was bored. He worked in Security and then transferred to store management. Jim enjoyed working for HEB because he was helping people every day.
