He also leaves behind his aunt Lucy Walker & uncle Frank Walker, and a host of 1st cousins: May Ross, Frank Akers, Eddie & Regina Martinez and Patrick & Linda Walker. There are also many nieces and nephews who all have very fine memories of his life. Jimmy also leaves behind a large host of friends, most of whom he developed friendships with while still in school, and those friendships remained very close even up to his passing.

Jimmy, as he was affectionately known to all friends & family, was a shining light and the guy who could make everyone laugh because of his whit and very comedic sense of humor. He loved playing sports, especially football and baseball. Many of his high school football teammates will remember him as the only player on the field who wore “old school” high top black cleats . . . to the point that they all nicknamed him “Hightops”. After his graduation from Samuel Clemens High School in 1982, Jimmy made the decision to follow his father and grandfather’s path to serve his country in the United States Army. He very much loved serving in uniform for this great nation under God.

After his discharge from the U.S. Army, Jimmy went on to gain his license to repair and install HVAC systems for residential use. Later on, he was able to obtain a position with the United States Postal Service where he finally retired. He was an avid baseball/football card collector going all the way back to his childhood days. Jimmy became a Christian at an early age while the family attended First Baptist Church of Schertz where he was still a member.

Although Jimmy’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit, quick whit & humor and willingness to help others will continue to inspire and uplift our lives in the days ahead. The family wishes that Jimmy’s memory be a blessing and encouragement to everyone who knew him. John 3:16 teaches us: For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but will have EVERLASTING LIFE!! As Jimmy is now face to face with our eternal creator, he will be enjoying the peace and reward that Jesus went before us to prepare.
