James Paul Jepsen

December 6, 1947 — November 30, 2023

Universal City

James Paul Jepsen was born on December 6, 1947 to Paul Maurice and Mary Daly Jepsen in Waltham, Ma.  He moved to Texas with his family in 1962 shortly after his father passed away.  James was an excellent student who graduated with the 1965 class of Strake Jesuit College Preparatory High School in Houston.  He went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Dallas in 1969.

James began working for the United States Postal Service in Dallas.  He later transferred to the Aurora, CO area postal center where he worked until he retired.  James truly enjoyed the beauty of Colorado and often explored its mountain cities and national park areas.  He moved back to Texas in 2013 and settled down in Universal City near where many of his relatives live.  James was known to be an avid tri-cycler.  He will be missed by his friendly neighbors who he frequently stopped to visit with whenever he was riding his bike or walking his dog.

James was a dear son, father, brother, uncle, nephew and neighbor to many people.  He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Selina Denise Jepsen.  James is survived by his four sisters, Christine Flynn, Paula Quick, Judy LeVan and Rosemary Jepsen as well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.  James will be remembered by his family and friends for his kind heart and generous spirit.

Memorial services for James will be held at Schertz Funeral Home, 2217 FM 3009, Schertz, TX 78154 on Monday, December 11, 2023 from 10am-12 noon with the rosary beginning at noon.  Interment at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery #2, 16075 North Evans Road, Selma, TX 78154 will be held at a later date.
