Irene Acuna

Surrounded by her family Irene Flores Acuna, 93, of Schertz, Texas went to be with the Lord on July 21, 2018. She was born on June 26, 1925. Irene is predeceased by her mother, Paula Arispe Flores; husband, Asuncion Acuna; son, Robert Acuna; and daughter, Rachel Carrasco. She is survived by her daughters, Hermelinda Licona and Rosalinda Munoz; sons-in-law, Arturo Carrasco and Baltazar Munoz; grandchildren, Robert and Christopher (Sandra) Carrasco, Melissa (Gabriel) Gutierrez, Angelica Munoz, Leticia (Derrick) Balderas; and nine great grandchildren. Irene was a hard worker who retired from Northeast ISD. She always had a smile on her face and loved fishing, cooking, and crocheting. She enjoyed spending every Sunday with her family and loved watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren play. They could never do wrong in her eyes.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Schertz Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 10:30am at Good Shepard Catholic Church with a graveside service to follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Selma #2 cemetery.
