Hilario Semersky, Jr.

Hilario A. Semersky Jr. (Larry) of Universal City, Texas was born on April 20 ^th , 1938, in Mathews, Texas to Hilario Semersky and Eustalio Arrandando. He took his last breath at the age of 83 on December 11, 2021, in Live Oak surrounded by his loving family.

Larry was raised in Sugarland Texas, his family eventually settled in Converse Texas where he met his beloved wife Ladislada.  During their 64 years of marriage, they had five daughters. He was an active member of the church (OLPH), and took part of Cursillo, Quadalupanas and was a eucharistic Minister.

He first retired after 37 years as Supervisor for Universal City Publics Works and retired for the second time from SCUCISD after 5 years.  Larry was a simple man in life who took pleasure in the simple things. He had an abundance of love to share by spending time with his loving wife, daughters, son in-law’s, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.  He took pride in teaching his family hard work ethics and facts of life as well has helping others in need.  When there was a gathering or celebration everyone knew him as the life of the party always joking and laughing. He also enjoyed passing time quietly while cooking, fishing and hunting with family. His legacy will live on through stories that his family and friends will share about his adventures throughout his life.

Survivors:  Ellen Semersky of Universal City, TX, Teresa Zipp and husband Robert of Schertz, TX, Norma Newberry of Cibolo, TX, Monica Calk of Cibolo, TX, and Amanda Gonzalez and husband David of Universal City, TX.

They were blessed with 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Brother: Jimmy Semersky and wife Lupe

Sister: Adela Semersky and Susie S. Cantu and husband Edward.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Henry Semersky, Alfred Semersky, and Frank Semersky.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 21, 2021 from 5pm to 9pm with a Rosary recited at 7pm at Schertz Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday December 22, 2021 at 11am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma, TX.
