Heriberto Guzman

March 1, 1949 — October 4, 2021

Heriberto Guzman, born on March 1, 1949, in Irapuato, Mexico, passed away on October 4, 2021, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 72. Heriberto moved from Mexico to California in search for a better life. He worked in his brother’s mechanic shop as an accountant and raised it out of the ruins. As an accountant, he kept record of everything, EVERYTHING. Eventually, he was let go and his niece took over; having no choice, he sold his home and moved his family to Texas. Heriberto was a very smart businessman. He went to a university to continue his education.

Heriberto was always goofy, strict, loving, witty, very sarcastic, strong minded, and even stubborn at times. He loved Karaoke and loved stipple art.  He loved Tequila and loved to be around a positive environment. If there wasn’t any positivity in the air, he would start it. Heriberto played a big part in church activities, he belonged in the Catholic church. He always wanted to bring everyone closer to God. Heriberto’s family was his heart, he always took care of family one way or another. He helped so many family members accomplish many things and never expected anything in return. He loved to fix up his home. His dream was to own a home on a large piece of land. He was able to do so. It’s not as fixed up as he wanted it, but his wife and children are going to make sure they finish it in memory of him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maria D. Guzman; daughters, Mariela Guzman, Angela Guzman, Jackie A. Guzman, and Joyce McKim; sons, Jorge Guzman and Christian Heriberto Guzman; grandchildren, Leonardo, Aris, Ryan, Julian, Aiden, Ela, and Alice. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM, at the Schertz Funeral Home.
