Guadalupe Chagoya

Guadalupe Frias Chagoya, 78, of Converse, Texas, went to be with the Lord on December 27, 2021. She was born in Kirby, Texas on September 18, 1943 to parents, Cresencio, Sr. and Bonifacia Frias.

Guadalupe attended Samuel Clemens High School class of 1963.

Guadalupe was preceded in death by her first husband, David C. Leos, Jr.; siblings, Amado Frias, Maria Calderon, Jose Frias, Gilbert Frias. She is survived by her husband, Gil Chagoya; children, Monica Chagoya and Velma Ramirez and her spouse Todd; stepsons, Jason Chagoya and Jacob Chagoya, grandchildren, Thomas Ramirez, Marisa Ramirez, Nicolette Ramirez, Matthew Chagoya, Jordan Chagoya, Jadin Chagoya, and Jada Chagoya; siblings, Juan Frias, Cris Frias Jr., Maria Louisa F. Gonzales

A Visitation for Guadalupe will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM, with a Rosary being recited at 6:30 PM, at Schertz Funeral Home in Schertz, TX. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Converse, TX. She will be interred at Selma #2 behind Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church following the Mass.

A Reception will be held at St. Monica’s Parish Hall following the Interment at Selma #2.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Good Shepherd Hospice, especially her nurse Tara Nichols MSN RN.

The family also wants to extend their thanks to her caregiver Maria, who treated her like an extended member of her family.
