Glenn H King passed away peacefully at his home at the age of 91 with family by his side on September 10,2023. Glenn was born June 23,1932 to Tracy Harry King and Annie Lee Goodrum King in Rotan, TX. He is survived by his wife Mary Alice King and four children Laura King of Corpus Texas, Alfred King of San Antonio Texas, Tracy Benavides of San Antonio Texas and Glenda Montgomery of New Braunfels Texas and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and in laws. Glenn was proceeded in death by his parents Tracy Harry & Annie Lee King and sisters, Ann (Cecil) Headstream, Betty Jo Granger.
Daddy’s life was full of laughter and love. He loved nothing more than to prank his family or friends. He always followed with an apology hug, which was often ignored because of his inability to control his laughter. I mean, who doesn’t love to wake up to a frozen steak or have a lizard on a leash pinned to your blouse?
He was an amazing provider. He worked long hours in the oil fields to provide a very happy life for his wife and children. He did an amazing job making each of us feel special and loved. He never met an animal he didn’t love. He loved to spend his spare time reading a good western book, doing wood work, riding a lawn mower, and having coffee with his best friend. In the more recent years, he found great joy in his friendship with his nephew.
In our home, you could always count on hearing a very loud “Rawr” to scare anyone around or “Mary Alice, I love you” to profess his everlasting love.
He was one of the few people that truly knew how to love unconditionally. One thing is for sure, to know him is to love him!
And we did that immensely!
