Gladys Walker, born on March 27, 1942, in Albany, Texas, passed away on March 30, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Gladys was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Walker, and her sisters, Rosa Cole, Margaret Long, and Ella Penns, whose memories she cherished throughout her life. She leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her legacy. She is survived by her two sisters, Mary Shead and Letha Booker. Her children, Sonya Liddell and Gerald Walker, along with his wife Dr. Claudia Walker, carry forward her strength and love.
Gladys was a proud and devoted grandmother to Jasmen Davidson, Tiffany Felder, Gerald Walker Jr., Lester Glenn, Maya Liddell, Giya Robbins, and Gerald Liddell Jr. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.
She found happiness in the simple and meaningful moments of life. Gladys enjoyed reading her Bible, watching basketball, and most of all, spending time with her family. She will also be remembered for her strong faith and her generous spirit of giving.
Gladys Walker will be remembered for her kind heart, her unwavering faith, and her deep love for her family. Her memory will live on in the lives of all who were blessed to know her.
A visitation will be held for Gladys Bell Walker at Schertz Funeral Home on Friday, April 10, 2026 beginning at 5 pm. Saturday, April 11, 2026, visitation will continue beginning at 4 pm, followed by a Funeral Service to begin at 5 pm.
