Gilberto "Gil" Buentello, Jr.

Gilberto "Gil" Buentello Jr., passed away unexpectedly at his home in San Marcos, TX on October 8, 2022. He was born on November 6, 1978 in San Antonio, TX to Gilberto Buentello and Christina Martinez.
Gil graduated from Sunset High School, class of 1997. Shortly after high school he would meet and marry the love of his life, Andie. Gil and Andie would go on to have two beautiful children, Liliana and Christian, and celebrated 22 years of marriage in April.
Gil was blessed with a happy and eventful life, never missing the opportunity to have fun along the way. He enjoyed the fishing trips he would take with his wife and kids, playing and listening to endless amounts of music, and making unforgettable memories with his friends and family.
Gil was authentically and wholeheartedly there for those in his life. When he loved, he loved forever. He would go on to form unbreakable bonds with his childhood friends that would remain a constant throughout his life. He will truly be missed and mourned.
Gil was preceded in death by his mother Christina Martinez. He is survived by his wife, Andrea Buentello; son: Christian Buentello; and daughter: Liliana Buentello. He is also survived by his father and stepmother Gilberto & Raquel Buentello Sr.; four sisters and (their families): Laura Buentello, Brianda Buentello, Leticia & (Bobby) Madrigal, and Lisa & (James) Stautzenberger; two brothers and (their families): Gilberto & (Ana Masiel) Buentello and Jeremy Buentello; mother & father-in-law: Leticia & (Andrew) Juarez; brother & sister-in-laws: Christopher & (April) Rodriguez and Leticia & (Ross) Chutchian; three beloved dogs: Monkey, Minnie, and Gracie; and many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.

A Visitation for Gil will be held at Schertz Funeral Home on Monday, October 17, 2022, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, with a Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM.
