Gerardo "Jerry” Garcia, 55, passed away on August 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of his wife. Born in Mexico on June 29, 1970, and raised in Laredo, Texas, Jerry lived a life defined by service, dedication, and unwavering love for those around him.
At just 18 years old, Jerry entered the United States Air Force, beginning a journey that took him across the globe. During his 24 years of distinguished service, he built lifelong friendships and devoted his expertise to Aircraft Maintenance Scheduling. After his retirement at Randolph Air Force Base, Jerry continued to inspire others with his wisdom, work ethic, and sense of humor by contributing and continuing civil service.
Music was the constant rhythm of his life, but family was always his greatest passion and strength. He deeply loved his children, Gerianne and Andrew; cherished his niece, Teena Marie Hernandez. He adored his wife, Anna, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories. His grandchildren—James “Jimmy,” John “John John,” Grace “Gracie,” Hope “Hopie,” and Isabella “Isa”—were the light of his life, and he never missed a chance to spoil them.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife, Anna; his daughter, Gerianne; his son, Andrew; his niece, Teena Marie Hernandez (Arnulfo); his sister-in-law, Sally; and his beloved grandchildren, James, John, Grace, Hope, and Isabella. Grandnieces/nephew: Haylieanna, Jaslynn, Ariana, Emmalie, Alexander Augustine "Gus Gus". Also survived by his siblings: Isaias (Lupita) Garcia, Raul (Alicia) Garcia, Jesus Garcia, Dora Alicia Garcia, Abraham (Annette) Garcia and many many nieces and nephews.
Jerry will be remembered for his selflessness, loyalty, humor, and the way he made everyone around him feel valued. His presence filled every room, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
